GLITCH BREAKS - WTF?

GLITCH BREAKS are audiovisual remix artworks derived from a physical MUSIC GRAFFITI painting using the FEEDBACK LOOPS methodology.

A painting is scanned into digital format, which is then re-scanned using visual synthesis to create an audio signature or call-sign - which (qualitatively) determines the musical key of the original painting.

This key signature is then combined with a suite of audio stems in the same key to create an aural PHREAK MUSIC soundscape.

The soundscape is then used as the audio seed to create a series of dynamic 'video stems' that are then orchestrated into a full audiovisual digital artwork in its own right.

A static image from the video artwork is then selected as a physical Art Print that acts as a gateway to the video remix in augmented reality.

SOUND & VISION

PLAY THAT PHREAKY MUSIC

The term PHREAK MUSIC is a nod to the call sign of the original ‘Phreaker’ first generation pre-web phone hackers.

The 'key signature audio signals' created from the paintings echo a sonic 'dial-up' aesthetic.

The augmented reality activation is entirely optional, and GLITCH BREAKS prints exist as a static conventional artwork in their own right.

Reproduced on heavy duty 250gsm specialist art paper, the A3 size prints are available in a choice of framed / unframed.

The prints can be activated in augmented reality to view the accompanying audiovisual remix artwork.
