'AUTO-RETURN #7' is an open edition fine art giclée print selected from the internationally exhibited audiovisual digital collage artwork of the same name.
AUTO-RETURN was first exhibited as part of the 'physical CRIME SCENES' installation in July 2019, and has since been exhibited in both digital video and print form in Barcelona, San Diego Berlin. Milan and Lisbon.
The print features a vintage Bang & Olufsen Beogram 1000 turntable wrapped in custom hand-printed hazard warning tape bearing the legend "NO$TALGIA". The B&O turntable is from the Zeitwarp personal collection.
The psychedelic distortion background is an extract from the sonic visual pattern of the MUSIC GRAFFITI painting 'D Major II'.
The giclée process combines specialist acid-free paper with archival inks to produce the highest fidelity reproduction with museum-grade longevity. The resulting prints demonstrate a greater depth in both colour and texture over a standard art print.
AUTO-RETURN is a one of the foundational pieces within 'The NO$TALGIA SHOW' - a long term creative series of physical and digital artworks examining Transience, Obsolescence, Transformation, Retro-Utopianism and the implications of the Nostalgia/NO$TALGIA phenomenon on culture, society, politics and climate.
The print release has an accompanying digital 'sound & vision' remix that can be activated by viewing the print in augmented reality.
